Best Hybrids Cars Under 30k

While the Federal Government may have set the bar for 2025 fuel economy standards at 54.5 MPG, people aren't willing to wait over a decade to enjoy better mileage. They want to go to their local popular car dealers, and buy something with 40 MPG or more now.

For those people, the Toyota Prius is still topping the list for new hybrid cars for sale. Though is no longer the most efficient vehicle thanks to the Nissan Leaf, which doesn't take gas at all. The Honda Insight also offers additional competition for 40 MPG hybrids to the Prius, and also offers amazing competition for the price.

Compared to the import options, the Ford Fusion Hybrid is hardly buying a cheap vehicle at a sticker price of over $28,000, so your patriotism will cost you more. Still, it's the only American manufacturer offering competing new car quotes on hybrids for under $30,000 at this time.

There's also the Ford Escape which hovers just in at the $30k mark, which offers buyers a cheap buying option for a large hybrid vehicle. Any hybrid SUV offering competing new car quotes is going to cost you significantly more.

There are also some surprises among new hybrid cars for sale. Besides the latest competition from the likes of Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata, the Lexus CT 200h offers a hybrid mileage at a comparable pricing in a Lexus styling to your local popular car dealers. Given the price point of hybrids, a Lexus is very much a surprise here.

Hopefully we see more surprises soon in the hybrid market as the technology stabilizes and more manufactures enter the market. Until then the list of hybrid cars for your choice that cost less than $30,000 is still surprisingly short.
