With the price of gasoline on the rise we have begun to see more auto manufacturers produce new hybrid and full electric vehicles (EV) as a way to relieve the pressure that's on most people. Therefore, in response to the increased development of these kind of automobiles GE Energy has put together a WattStation and WattStation Connection software and displayed it the SAE 2012 World Congress in Detroit, MI.

WattStation

As far as the Connection software goes it will allow EV owners to tap into their network and gather useful information, such as the location of a WattStation, directions to one, as well as how much it cost to recharge your car. All of these features will be available through the Internet, mobile apps, and future navigation systems which give an increased ability manage your visit at the station.

To go along with stations that you will see throughout the local areas, you will also be able to have these same attractive stations at your home. They also come with their own retractable cords as well and only need to be plugged into an outlet to become functional.

GE has also made sure that all EVs can use the WattStations, so whether you have a Chevy Volt, Nissan LEAF, or eventually get the Ford Focus Electric you will be able to get the charge you need. Another thing this company is proud to announce is that these WattStations have the power to cut charge time from 12-18 hours all the way down to 4-8 with a standard outlet.

This alone may cause more consumers to rush out to purchase a cheap car that runs on electricity, but the low price of a GE WattStation wall mount may help. For only $1000 you can have one of these charging stations in your home and help push the continued rise of eco-friendly vehicles.
