2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo
When the original 2012 Hyundai Veloster was released, there was just one problem. Sure the car was fun to drive, good looking, great MPG, and unique styling, and reasonable price were all huge selling points. But still something was missing that people inherently expected.

See when you buy a new vehicle named 'Veloster' you expect, well speed. Sure the car offered a reasonable 138 HP and still managed to get 40 MPG highway your still doing things right but the car wasn't named the 'Priuster'. More was expected and when people put their foot down to the floor and didn't get firmly flattened to the seat expectations went unmet.

To that end, Hyundai is kicking things up a notch and ensuring that everyone who wants to be very firmly planted in their seat when they plant their foot get their wish. The new 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo puts out 201 horsepower, an increase of 63 ponies from the stock model. And just to ensure you get a little extra style with your power, the Turbo comes with 18-inch wheels, leather seats custom badged with the word 'Turbo' on them and a tweaked rear end.

Of course there is an uptick in price from the base models $17,450 starting MSRP, which is at just the top end of cheap cars for sale. The Turbo will start at instead $21,950 which is still quite reasonable as far as the hot hatch category goes. For example the new Volkswagen Beetle Turbo, which also gets 200 horsepower, will start at $23,395.

There are some hidden cost savings to the Veloster Turbo however that are not so apparent. For example that Beetle Turbo? 22 City and 30 Highway mileage. The Veloster Turbo meanwhile checks in at 26 City and 38 Highway mileage. How can something be both economy and performance? It's a question you'll likely forget all about when you roll one off the lot.
