The Detroit Auto Show this year is touted as a sort of working man's auto show. Meaning a lot of the featured vehicles are within a price range that the average person would possibly spend on a vehicle. That being said there are still all the new vehicles and concept cars to ooh and ahh over. This post highlights some of the wilder concept cars currently spot lighted at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.


BMW i3 Concept
The new i3; BMW's first series-produced all-electric car, was created for practical everyday driving. It focuses primarily on the drive-ability in urban settings and of course zero emissions.

Vehicles from the Past Featured at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show

Some of the most interesting vehicles featured this year aren't even 2012 models. These vehicles have been featured at other auto shows, but were so impressive that they've been included in this years show. Have a look and you'll see why.


2011 Toyota Fun Vii Concept
The 2011 Fun Vii debuted at the 2011 42nd Tokyo Motor Show. This concept car was so impressive that they brought it to Detroit. The entire outside of the vehicle is a digital display capable of being themed, playing video and even becoming a mobile advertisement. Check out the video below to see how far they took this concept. It's so ahead of it's time that the technology to run some of the prominent features doesn't even exist yet.

2011 Camaro Hot Wheels Concept
Originally debuted at SEMA in 2011 this vehicle fulfills the fantasy of car lovers who are full grown kids. The model used for inspiration and creation of this full sized concept car is a 1/64-scale replica model that was part of the original Hot Wheels collection released in 1968.

2011 Chevrolet MIRAY Concept
GM Korea has unveiled the Chevrolet Miray concept vehicle at the 2011 Seoul Motor Show. It is a mid-electric hybrid-powered sports car. This hybrid sports car shows the Korean influence you can see and gives you an idea where the design directions of today have stemmed from. Paired with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder mill and twin electric motors the concept vehicle also has 1.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is recharged through regenerative braking.
